Hello Max Enix! Tell us a few words about your music project. How did you decide to create the project Max Enix?
Hello, thank you very much for this interview! I really wanted to make a mark and release an ambitious and innovative double album! The previous album under Constellia: Secret Garden (to be listened to on Bandcamp) was a simpler, more straightforward album (a sort of base for the future) ! With this double album, I wanted to offer a film to listen to! Something very epic! Enix is a contraction of Phoenix (which rises from the ashes)! I wanted to continue under this name because I really wanted to offer something personal and unheard before ! My absolute reference is Devin Townsend, who innovates with every album, so I wanted to follow in his footsteps, but in a different way with a Universe on its own ! That’s how Max Enix: Far From Home was born (to be listened to on Bandcamp, Spotify, Amazon and all other platforms) and it will be the same for future albums to come…
The concept talks about the different phases of Mother Earth (telluric aspect) and its inhabitants mainly. It starts in prehistory and the cataclysm caused by meteorites and then the regeneration of the Earth before arriving in our time. This project is above all an acid criticism of the society we live in! This double concept album is completely in tune with today’s world and what might happen, the consequences to come… It deal with the beauty of Life…, the human condition, is turned towards spirituality and also denounce the human stupidity on certain points and the actions not to be reproduced any more (the corruption, the conditioning, the oppression, sick communautarism, indoctrination, thirst and abuse of power, abusive interests, the tyranny, the exploitation, the forced work, the domination, the law of “do or die”, the religious fanaticism, mythomania, the poisoned thrones of bastards, the divisions, the violence, the fake news, data manipulation, the blindness, the I don’t care attitudes etc… ) ! In the end of the story a similar catastrophe to the extinction of the dinosaurs is announced (meteorite which could be assimilated to a nuclear bomb too)! How will humanity react to this and how will it all end? The future depends on it! The cosmos (cosmic aspect) envelops this mystery (The moon, the planets around…) ! Where is the equilibrium on this earth ? The aim is to make you think and wonder after listening like a good movie ! Where is the main character Ethan in the end with this enigmatic golden door (At the beginning of the story he is young and at the end old)! Dead or Alive in an other place ? Very spiritual and deep ! To be discovered in this double album ! A real movie will probably follow ! There is of course a very avant-garde and futuristic aspect in Far From Home as it will be the case of the future albums !
You are composer/songwriter (music), singer, lyricist, art director, manager, actor, producer and more. I have to say that you are very talented. How do you describe yourself?
It’s hard to describe myself! I’m constantly thinking about things, it hardly ever stops, I’m passionate, but if I had to use one word to describe myself I’d say… Alien !
Which musicians and bands affected you to be a professional musician?
My principal influences are Rhapsody (first period especially with Albums like Symphony of the enchanted lands, Power of the dragon Flames, Rain of a thousand flames, Into the Legend…), Devin Townsend (Ocean Machine, Terria, Accelerated Evolution, Transcendence…), Pain of Salvation (The perfect Element, Remedy Lane, Be, In the passing light of days…), Dream Theater (scenes from a memory, Six degrees of inner turbulence, Black clouds and silver linings, Train of thought, A dramatic turn of event…), Evergrey (The inner circle, Recreation day, the storm within, Torn, Hymn for the broken…), Vanden Plas (Far off grace, Beyond daylight, The seraphic clockwork, Abydos…), Therion (Theli, Vovin, Secret of the Runes, Lemuria/Sirius B…), Ayreon (The human Equation, The source, 01011001…), Opeth (Damnation, Deliverance, Ghost Reveries, Watershed…), Anathema (Alternative 4, Weather systems, We’re here because we’re here, Distant satellites…), Katatonia (Last fear deal gone down, Night is the new day, Dead end kings, The fall of hearts…), Paradise Lost (Symbol of life, One second, Faith divides us, Paradise Lost…), Era, Enigma, Nightwish, Kamelot, Stream of Passion, Hans Zimmer (Inception, Interstellar, The dark knight…), Vangelis (Blade Runner…), James Horner (Alien…), Danny Elfman (L’étrange Noêl de M. These influences have made me what I am now! I also really like new wave/dark wave music (Clan of xymox, Prodigy…) and all kinds of music if there’s something deep in it! But the aim is to have and keep a unique universe despite these influences !
Your last album is the double (concept) album called “Far From Home”. Tell us a few words about your new album. How do you feel about this new release?
The feedback so far has been excellent and I’m delighted! I hope people will take the time to listen to it and love it for what it is! It’s best to listen to it on headphones with the 48-page booklet in your hands! That way you can fully immerse yourself in the journey and see Thomas Ewerhard’s magnificent illustrations!
What a listener can hear at your new album? Why someone should give it a try?
Something very epic, with very long songs, each of which represents a captivating, spellbinding, spiritual and profound journey! A 2h40 double album with the Budapest Symphony Orchestra, a host of famous guests and plenty of emotions ! You have to listen to it to escape and dream of a better, fairer world…
On you new album “Far From Home”, we can hear the Budapest Symphony Orchestra. It’s an interesting approach that keens on the interest of the listener. How did you decide to co-operate with the Budapest Symphony Orchestra?
I was looking for a professional orchestra that could deliver a wide range of emotions and the best possible sound and recording quality! This orchestra was recommended to me and I have to say it’s phenomenal! If you’re looking for an orchestra, don’t hesitate to use this one! They’re fast, efficient, helpful, friendly and competent!

I think the best thing is to listen to the double album, make up your own opinion and discover new sensations with each listen! The surprises will come by themselves! I leave that pleasure to you!
How do you plan to promote your new album “Far From Home”? Lives? Or maybe a tour?
Some videos again, articles, Albums reviews, interviews… And yeah some Major festivals in Europe have already been signed up for 2024 and especially 2025 (some Big names will be on it), and a tour should be organised after with a host of concerts/venues ! UK, USA, Asia etc… Later! I don’t want to forget anybody !
Do you have any thoughts to release a new video for a track from this album?
A new video clip will be released on 31 October for the song “Tears Of Earth”, directed by Lucas Bastian in 3D using Unreal Engine! The same director who made the City of Mortals video already released, which you can watch on Youtube! Other videos have already been released, including Beyond my Blood directed by Mathieu Buchholzer (Blue mount films) and The Broken Face by Dronicon films! A lyric video can be seen for the epic composition: Angels of the Apocalyptic Storm! More videos to come, including some for the orchestral version of Far From Home (3CDS) with exclusive FX sounds, due out on 27 October 2023 ! Limited edition bundle with the original double album and the orchestral triple album, plus a few extras at the end of the year!

I’m currently working on 2 transcendent new albums that are both complementary and totally opposite! One’s Hard, dark and mysterious, the other’s one Calm, bright and poetic ! Yin and Yang!
