Congratulations on the release of your sixth album, “Vicarious Disclosures”! How does it feel to have another record out?
Feels fantastic. Thank you!
Can you give us a glimpse into the inspiration behind the album’s tracks? What themes or ideas influenced your songwriting process?
Inspirations and themes were influenced by the global state of affairs in our world currently.
Slow Burning Car has always been known for your unique sound that blends different genres. How would you describe the sound of “Vicarious Disclosures” and how does it differ from your previous releases?
New co-producer Aaron Kusterer (our lead guitarist) really helped shape the tones and sound on this album.
As a band originating from Los Angeles, how has the city and its music scene influenced your music?
We are students of the history of Los Angeles based music like The Doors, Van Halen, Motley Crue so it always comes through in the music, plus our Latino culture is a big element as well.
Do you have any standout moments or personal favorite tracks from “Vicarious Disclosures”?
Shapeless Faceless, Crime Minister, Subtlety…I love them all.
What can fans expect from Slow Burning Car in the future? Any upcoming shows or plans for new music?
Hopefully international touring, national touring, and some new promo videos as well.
“Vicarious Disclosures” features a cover of Iron Maiden’s “Wasted Years.” What made you choose this particular song to cover, and how did you put your own unique spin on it?
it’s a song I love that I have always performed acoustically at home. We spruced it up with some Bouzouki to give it a byzantine feel.
Slow Burning Car has been making music for over a decade now. How has your sound evolved and what can fans expect from your latest album in terms of musical style and overall experience?
maturity in songwriting both lyrically and musically. More risks sonically regarding production.
Which bands and musicians have influenced Slow Burning Car music style and how?
Queens Of The Stone Age, New Model Army, Black Sabbath, KISS, The Pink Floyd, Alice Cooper…too many
Can you give us a glimpse on modern rock/metal scene of USA today? What is fresh in the scene and what is the next big thing?
There are a few bands back home called Centershift and Bad Cop/Bad Cop which are great…as far as the next big thing I would hope it is Slow Burning Car!
Thank you so much for joining us today, Slow Burning Car! We wish you the best of luck with “Vicarious Disclosures”.
